The Schengen visa is a special document required to travel freely around the 25 Schengen countries for a maximum stay of up to 90 days in a 6 month period. The purpose of the visit must be leisure, tourism, or business.
The Schengen area is located in Europe. However, The European Union and the Schengen agreements are two differents treaty between the European countries.
A total of 30 countries, included all the European Union countries (excluding Ireland and UK) and three non-EU members (Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland) had signed the Schengen agreements. 25 Schengen countries are currently using the Schengen borders control agreement.

The Schengen visa
